Luxury Residences

This seaside residence is built on a popular summer resort, a few kilometers outside the city of Heraklion, Crete, designed by the renowned Swiss architect Davide Macullo. Located in an area of great archaeological interest, the residence follows the slope of the plot, so that the building "opens" towards the sea side. The facades of the building are characterized by the large projected triangular solid shapes with acute angles. The use of large openings, especially on the base of the building adds even more to these hanging volumes. External walls and floors are covered exclusively with local dark grey stone, while the reflecting mirror-glazing of windows block the visual contact with the house interior.
In contradiction with the dark exterior, the house is very bright on the inside. Internal bridges and lofts create quite high spaces, allowing the diffusion of light until the depths of the house. The white walls, combined with the bamboo wood flooring, give a warm feeling to the interiors, while the colorful crystals of the two-story central glasshouse reflect the sunlight in a multitude of colours. In addition, the use of coloured glass mosaics in selected areas of the house adds an even greater colour diversity and uniqueness.
